<image:title>Discography - From Where You Came Kara Lis Coverdale 2025</image:title>
<image:caption>From Where You Came unspools as a series of nocturnal transmissions, altered-state refinements, and vivid stories, rich in vibrant, illuminating qualities. Drawing together 19th century programmatic music, mid-’70s jazz, and Kara-Lis Coverdale's distinctive multi-dimensional approach to composition that embraces improvisation, Coverdale alloys synthesis with live instrumentation in a genreless yet distinctly identifiable gesture of reconnection with land and body through sound. Approaching composition as a diagnostic methodology to spiritual ends, she conducts emotional resonance like currents of charge, hard-wiring the purely felt into electronic signals. Smalltown Supersound (uk/europe/world), Envision (canada) May 09, 2025. https://kara-liscoverdale.bandcamp.com/album/from-where-you-came-2</image:caption>

      <image:title>Discography - Primordial/ Lift Pauline Oliveros</image:title>
<image:caption>TAIGA Records’ double vinyl record contains the previously-unreleased second performance of Oliveros’ Primordial/Lift from September 25th, 2010. The first performance of this work, which took place in 1998, released on TotE Table of the Elements, and PoP in both edited and full-length versions. Interpreting a score composed by Oliveros in 1998, Anne Bourne, Andrew Deutsch, Miguel Frasconi, David Grubbs, Jason Huang and Suzanne Thorpe on oscillator, joined Oliveros at Issue Project Room in Brooklyn. Olivia Block performed the same night. This iteration eleased 2012. Primordial/ Lift was composed at the crest of the wave of the Rose Mountain Deep Listening Retreats, which I attended from 1995. We premiered the composition, which consisted of 2 mandala scores, at Hallwall’s. with Paauline , Andrew Deutsch, Tony Conrad and David Grubbs. An oscillator traces the slow rise of the earth’s magnetic field for 45 minutes, arriving a a tonal mellifluous ending described as : “...the music was transformed into a gently exultant, raga-like song of the earth for its last 30 minutes.” — The New York Times Steve Smith, 2013</image:caption>

<image:caption>Mary Jane’s 5th recording, Storas, was an album that stuck with — and yet broke with — tradition all at once as she brought her backing musicians into the studio with her, forging into a slightly different pattern than with previous records. A beautiful interpretation of some of the Scottish Gaelic songs that have become part of Nova Scotia’s Gaelic tradition, the use of modern instrumentation and arrangements provides a respectful and beautiful framework for these Gaelic treasures but it is Mary Jane’s spell binding vocal performance and heartfelt delivery that makes these selections truly come alive for the listener. <image:caption>Ivy Mairi – Produced by Michael Timmins . released by Latent Records. When I heard Ivy sing for the first time she was 15. I was afraid she would be exploited, the industry the it was. I introduced her to Mike because he was an honourable man. Anne Bourne guest artist cello and backing vocals. Toronto, ON songstress Mairi was still a teenager when she released her debut album, Well You, in 2007, to much acclaim. It has been a long wait, but this superb sophomore outing confirms her potential. Cowboy Junkies main man Michael Timmins has been rather a mentor to Mairi, and he again takes the producer's chair, executing that role with restraint and clarity. Her combination of vocal purity and some imaginative sonics occasionally brings Beth Orton to mind, and No Talker would also fit snugly alongside recent work from T.O. peers Jennifer Castle and the Weather Station. Mairi can go from a fragile whisper to passionate shout within the same song. Exclaim! Magazine</image:caption>

      <image:title>Discography</image:title>
<image:caption>Quorum began from my desire to play my bass clarinet with other low instruments, cultivating and forging new instrumental languages that draw heavily upon extending the possibilities of our instruments. I wanted to explore what could possibly transpire from cross-pollination when all players were similarly engaged. Quorum is composed of musicians who have all been a huge inspiration to me, and who singularly define their unique musical entity as being beyond the capabilities of their instruments. The double quartet of two low winds, two cellos, two basses, and two drummer/percussionists includes pairings of same instruments with completely unique and different approaches. Ironically, we were never able to combine all eight incredible voices into one glorious track or concert. Rather than feeling frustrated about this, it reveals another reason for creating Quorum. When forming the band, I had tired of trying to get all bodies of any certain group at a certain gig, and designed Quorum with the idea that it would be me plus at least one at any given... more credits released May 13, 2014 Scott Thomson - Trombone Anne Bourne - Cello Tilman Lewis - Cello Rob Clutton - Double Bass Aaron Lumley - Double Bass Nick Fraser - Drums/Percussion Joe Sorbara - Drums/Percussion</image:caption>

<image:caption>My City of Starlings is the new album by multi-instrumentalist composer Charles Spearin known for his work in Broken Social Scene, Do Make Say Think, and countless more. The album is an incredibly dynamic and eclectic blend of instrumental-leaning excursions that were born from a secret daily all-star songwriters society. Beautifully textured, gliding between avant garde, art rock and electronic with cohesion and ease, My City of Starlings foregrounds the masterful touch that Spearin always imbues in his bands' legendary songs and performances. “What a wonderful record, so much well placed and expressive sound, exquisitely played and crafted. It brings to mind and this is the highest praise I can offer! <image:caption>Many friends family and associates turned up at the farm during the recording , someone from the Horse Shoe Tavern was grilling . A television crew turned up They asked me to tell a story about Jim and Greg . I felt that would be too much information so I offered to play cello and they took me up on the grassy hill . I was told my father watched this often while he was dying . I hope it gave him some relief. “Each song was recorded live. Each take was recorded, whether it was a run through or a performance. At night after most of the friends would leave and we would stay up listening to the takes and analyizing . When I recorded the solo on What is this Love the room behind me was packed . Noone made a sound.” Blue Rodeo’s fourth record, recorded literally over five days in July, at singer/songwriter Greg Keelor’s farm. Greg first met Anne when she was in Jane Siberry band, he invited Anne to plaay keyboards in the band he waas forming with Michelle MacAdorey’s and Jocelyn Lanois eventually named Crash Vegas. Greg came over one summer evening to Anne’s third floor apartment on Trinity Bellwoods park and sitting at the kitchen table, he played Hasn’t Hit Me Yet and What is this love and asked Anne to play on the new record. The kitchen door was open to the evening air . And when he finished playing, cheers went up from the neighbours listening from open windows and gardens below. It made them laugh and with that Anne agreed. Specifically the invitation was to record a cello improvisation on What is this Love, and to sing on several songs with his other guest artist Sarah MacLachlan. It is widely considered one of Canada's most influential albums, marking the peak of Blue Rodeo's 12-time Juno Award-winning career. The album was officially certified Diamond (over 1 million copies) in Canada, in 2026, making it one of the best-selling Canadian albums ever.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Discography 2 - Love Story</image:title>
<image:caption>Copyright. guest artist appearance and production collaboration with my brother Pete Bourne and his friends. An epic and inventive recording collectively produced and recorded by producer Dave Ogilvie at Mushroom Sound in Vancouver BC, 1991. I started out with a clip board , keeping track of overdubs , Dave looked at me across the board and handed ,e a bottle of Jack Daniels . Highlights Christian asking me to conduct him on the bridge of Dust . Tom built a tend in the middle of the big room to sing the vocals . I recall having to check Tom from behind each time he moved out of consistent range of the vocal mic. My brother Pete , a genius at arranging , consisitent performer and brilliaant production ideas , his fade at the end of Dust was pure rebellion against the slow fade . I have never worked with any other musicians who were as committed aas this band was. The industry was brutal on young people. Still this record was and is an influence nd an inspiration to musicians. I remember going to the corner office of Anna Statman at Geffen Records in LA and her asking me to stay with the band, she said they need you. I felt I would take space my brother would rightfully inhabit .It was paradoxiical to play with © and the with Loreena McKennit . One of them was completely authentic and one theatrical.</image:caption>

I returned from our European debut in London at the ICA at the end of August. My mother died by October. As she had visited the studio during the recording process, her presence is felt in these songs especially Lina which was her hidden middle name.</image:caption>

<image:caption>© Tom Anselmi Christian Thorvaldson Eric Marxsen Pete Bourne Producer Dave Ogilvie . Mushroom Vancouver guest artist Anne Bourne. The Mushroom Demo that got them signed to Geffen. Check Pete’s fade . Our parents died suddenly in succession , This music was the right amount of raw for sudden death. Tom Anselmi’s genius artistry meant people did not forgive him eventually for his humanity . Life events for all of us have been extreme and survival meant separation. Tom and my brother Pete met at Brentwood Pete having been sent away to school in the hopes he would be more successful, he had more promise he deserved a good education, and Tom because his father had died in a motel fire. When Pete sent me a play he wrote about shoorting Jesus with a gun , I started writing him to say come to Toronto , you can play music. He fit right in. Pete is a great musician , taught himself from an early age, just listened .</image:caption>

      <image:title>Discography 2 - The Closer I Get, Hayden</image:title>
<image:caption>I was in upstate NY visiting Pauline Oliveros. I went over to Bearsville to record one track with Hayden. Hayden was away all day canoeing with his manager Sandy. By the time I arrived it was evening and he had lit the studio with Italian scented candles. We recorded all night, many tracks and in the end only one was chosen I had the feeling Hayden wanted me to decide and I wanted him top decide. He would say something like - want to go again and I would say yes .. . When we visited the Producer in the next room he asked me to record on his record too. I wasn’t sure I had something for Hayden yet so I said no.. we discussed my circle of chairs technique for cello section, He said he used a line of chairs .. When the sun came up the engineer drove me back to Kingston NY. I had to throw up on the side of the road.. inhaled too much Italian scented candle fumes. I loved playing live with Hayden .. just p[iano and cello and the song . We performed live at the Bathurst St theatre, right after he was signed by Neil Young.
